Asian American and Pacific Islander faculty and staff association meeting

We invite you to our upcoming AAPIFSA general meeting on Thursday, April 1st, noon-1:00 p.m. via Zoom. In our upcoming meeting, we hope to connect on topics including:

  • Community care and resources
  • AAPI Heritage Month and collaboration opportunities with the Asian American Pacific American Student Coalition (APASC)
  • Upcoming meetings with WSU administrators
  • Spring 2021 Calendar

The AAPIFSA at WSU stands united against racism, hatred, and acts of violence against people of color. Hate speech and violence against the AAPI community has increased 150% since the onset of COVID-19 in the United States according to the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University. The recent violent attacks against Asian Americans are wholly unacceptable. The AAPIFSA at WSU is committed to uplifting the voices of those affected by racism and xenophobia.

Important Note: Both internal and external WSU meeting attendees must be signed into Zoom to join the meeting.

We would also like to share some volunteer opportunities for AAPIFSA members to get involved with AAPI Heritage Month activities hosted by the Asian Pacific American Student Coalition (APASC). Two upcoming opportunities include:

  • April 1st, 2021 Epic Egg Hunt
  • April 12th, 2021 Spam Musubi Night (virtual)

More information and sign-up sheet is located on our Volunteer Sign-Up excel spreadsheet.

For questions, please contact our AAPIFSA Co-Chairs, at lavine@wsu.edu and filipo_pls@wsu.edu. Additionally, more information about the AAPIFSA can be found at the AAPIFSA website.
