Deep reflection needed following Atlanta murders

Washington State University leaders are reflecting on the March 17 mass shooting in Atlanta that took the lives of eight people, including six women of Asian descent.

In statements from campuses throughout the WSU system, the University leaders acknowledged the recent murders as part of a trend of increased violence and hate directed at members of the Asian American and Asian immigrant community. WSU stands in solidarity with these communities and commits itself to fostering environments where individuals actively speak out against acts of discrimination, harassment and violence.

WSU Vancouver’s Bias Response Team has put together a resource guide on anti-Asian and Pacific Islander violence.
