Phillip McClean, Director, Genomics & Bioinformatics Program, North Dakota State University, presents “Molecular Approaches to Designing Crops for the Produce and Consumer Value Chain.”
Dr. Phil McClean is a plant geneticist at North Dakota State University with a focus on the genetics and genomics of common bean. His lab focuses on genome sequencing and resequencing as tools to discover genetic factors associated with disease resistance, agronomic performance, and seed coat color and patterning. He has led several national and international projects that developed genomic tools and approaches to address this important common bean traits.
