Surplus Stores service changes

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak Surplus Stores is announcing the following changes to our policies:

Shopping at Surplus Stores

  • Surplus Stores is closed to the public, there will be no Friday Public Sales or Live Auctions until further notice.
  • Surplus Stores is closed for all drop-in service.
  • WSU Departments and priority customers needing to purchase items should contact Surplus Staff at 335-3089 or surplus@wsu.edu to enquire about the availability of items. On-site viewing of items will only be allowed by appointment in groups of three or less.

Pickup of Surplus Items

  • When submitting a Surplus Disposal Request (SDR) please provide a contact name and phone number in the comments section of the SDR.
  • Once the SDR is approved, Surplus staff will schedule a pickup time with the listed contact.
  • Please move all surplus items to an area outside of any occupied offices. This may include loading docks, hallways or waiting areas. If items are too large to move please note that in the comments section.
  • To increase social distancing and reduce the time we spend interacting with your personnel, we ask that all items to be removed are empty, clearly identified and grouped together.
  • Signatures for inventoried items will be exchanged via email and scanned documents.

Drop Off of Surplus Items

  • When submitting an SDR for drop off select Surplus Stores as the pickup location and provide a contact name and phone number in the comments section.
  • Once the SDR is approved, Surplus Staff will schedule a drop off time with the listed contact.
  • When unloading smaller items place them on the pallets located at the rear roll-up door. Please group your items together with a copy of the SDR.
  • Surplus staff will coordinate the unloading of larger items or items that require a forklift at the time the drop off is scheduled.
  • Signatures for inventoried items will be exchanged via email and scanned documents.
