WSU Pullman Transportation Services has launched a pedestrian safety awareness campaign in hopes to educate the WSU Pullman campus community about pedestrian safety while driving, riding and walking around campus.
Pavement graphics have been applied at 12 crosswalk locations across campus, including crossings on Stadium Way, Cougar Way, NE Campus Street, Spokane Street and more. These bright green pavement graphics display messages such as “Eyes Up Phones Down”, “See and Be Seen”, and “Look Both Ways”.
Transportation Services will be in the CUB today (11/4) and Wednesday (11/6) from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. for students and staff to give their feedback about pedestrian safety, and allow them the opportunity to take a pledge to keep campus safe while driving, riding, and walking around campus.
We sometimes all need a reminder to pay attention in pedestrian heavy traffic. We are all trying to get somewhere, so let’s pay attention to each other and get places safely!
Take the Pedestrian Safety Awareness Pledge! Pledge to keep yourself and others safe. To learn more about Heads Up Cougs Pedestrian Safety Awareness, go to transportation.wsu.edu.
