WSU 2019 Health Professions Expo: March 27-29, Pullman

The Health Professions Student Center (HPSC) is pleased to announce its upcoming Health Professions Expo. Students and alumni from all majors will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from a variety of healthcare programs and organizations. Spanning 3 days, the event is a fantastic way to explore health professions school options, get tips from school representatives on the application for specific programs, build networks for the future, and learn about careers in health care. The event, beginning on Wednesday, March 27, with the following presentations led by specialists in various healthcare fields, provides opportunities for students to have exposure to various industry experts.

4:10-5 p.m. – Dos and Don’ts of Professional Applications, CUE 219
5:10-6 p.m. – Pathways to a Career in Medicine: MD and DO, CUE 418
5:10-5:40 p.m. – Pharmacy: An Expanding Profession, CUE 207
6-7 p.m. – Financing Health Professional School: Get the Facts, CUE 119

The tabling event will be held on Thursday, March 28, in the CUB Junior Ballroom. At this time, students can visit with 27 representatives from the following healthcare programs from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.:

After meeting with admission recruiters and representatives, the HPSC will be hosting a reception in CUE 502, to introduce the new collaboration with Pacific Northwest University College of Medicine providing a guaranteed interview for qualifying WSU students. You are invited to meet Ms. LeAnn Hunter, Director of Enrollment from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Additionally, the following seminars are open for participants to attend:

5-5:30 p.m.– Rehabilitation Warriors: Occupational & Physical Therapy, CUE 416
5:30-6:10 p.m. – Mind the Gap (What to do during your gap year?), CUE 418
6:10–7:00 p.m. – Panel of professional providers, CUE 319

The Expo culminates on Friday, March 29, with the following presentation:

11:15-11:45 a.m. – The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine: The Holistic Review, CUE 316

These events are free and open to everyone. No pre-registration is required.

The 2019 Expo will provide an invaluable opportunity for students interested in health professions to meet with admission recruiters and representatives from several different universities and organizations.
