NPR special correspondent and host to receive Murrow Award, deliver Murrow Symposium keynote speech

Melissa Block, Special Correspondent and Host for National Public Radio, will receive the 2019 Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism and will give the keynote speech at the 44th Murrow Symposium at 7 p.m. on April 3 in the Compton Union Building Auditorium at Washington State University’s Pullman campus.

“Melissa Block is a tremendous example of Murrow’s legacy in action,” said Dean Bruce Pinkleton. “I am especially struck by her ability to elicit information from others through thoughtful, skilled interviewing. The result is exceptional stories that connect with listeners.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony and address are open to the public and free, but those planning to attend must register at https://murrow.wsu.edu/symposium/ because of limited seating. Registration opens on February 4.

The keynote speech, sponsored by the Edward R.
