Seminar: “Technology Development Using Predictive Engineering & DFSS”

Please join us on Thursday, Nov. 15, 11 a.m. to Noon in ETRL room 101 (Tri-Cities in Floyd room 224) for a presentation by Dr. Arshad Alfoqaha of IBM Corporation.

His talk with be on Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) methodologies, and predictive engineering and statistical modeling methods that were applied to develop robust and reliable products at IBM and Medtronic. At IBM, developing reliable and robust designs of supercomputers is critical to IBM’s vision. At Medtronic, the worldwide leading medical device company, developing reliable and robust products are critical to save patients’ lives. Design for Six Sigma (DFSS/DRM) and predictive engineering methods and statistical modeling were implemented to develop a new design of the leadless pacemaker (Micra).
