WSU Children’s Center receives DOE grant to support student parents

The WSU Children’s Center, the Pullman campus based child care center for children of students, staff and faculty, has received a 4 year grant to offset the cost of child care tuition for income eligible student parents.

The CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) grant is a competitive federal grant program, anticipated to fund approximately 200 programs nationally for the 2019-2022 cycle.  According to the WA State Board for Community and Technical colleges, seven other campus child care programs in Washington also received the grant, all at community and technical colleges.  Receiving just under $209,000 per year for each of the next 4 years will allow income eligible student parents with children enrolled at the WSU Children’s Center to receive significant child care tuition subsidies.  Visit the Children’s Center web page to learn more about the program https://childrenscenter.wsu.edu/
