A new animated series exploring science questions from children premieres on Northwest Public Broadcasting this week.
Ask Dr. Universe will air between regularly scheduled PBS Kids programming on KWSU, Spokane-Pullman and KNTW, Yakima-Pasco-Richland-Kennewick. Episodes will be available online, and will be made available to other stations as well.
The first series of short episodes will explore questions from children including how bees make hexagons in their hives, how to make slime, how many stars are in the universe, and more. Parents can help their child submit a question on the Ask Dr. Universe website for chance to be featured in future episodes.
The series is collaboration between Washington State University and Northwest Public Television. WSU is public research university committed to a tradition of service. Ask Dr. Universe began at WSU in the mid-1990s with a syndicated column and website to help kids explore science and learn about the university.
Ask Dr. Universe continues to increase access to science exploration for K-6 students and, in partnership with NWPB, is dedicated to enriching community through programs which engage, enlighten, and entertain.
