The semester has started, and we’ve found that our food supplies are suddenly at an all-time low! While we have larger events and partnerships planned moving forward, we could use help keeping the shelves full in the short-term.
Rosario’s Place, housed in the Women’s Center, is a community-supported resource available to all students in need. Through it, we provide shelf-stable food, hygiene supplies, and many items for students who are parents of small children. Our food needs range from granola bars and snacks to pasta and canned vegetables. We have no refrigeration, so everything needs to be shelf-stable. We’ll gladly accept whatever you have to donate, but a good guideline is to think about what you would personally be glad to find on a shelf when you needed food.
Donations can be dropped off on the marked shelves in the Rosario’s Place hallway, or brought to the front desk at the Women’s Center. The Women’s Center is generally staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays; Rosario’s Place is open and accessible at all times the building is unlocked. Both are on the ground floor of Wilson-Short Hall, across from the elevator. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Murray. Thank you!
