TODAY: Parents support of students’ transition to college

Associate Professor of Human Development Matt Bumpus will present “WSU Parents and Their Students: Supporting a Successful Transition” today, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. in CUE 202 The event is open to everyone, and hosted by First-Year Program (part of WSU Undergraduate Education) as part of its faculty professional development series.

Bumpus will discuss data from several studies focused on WSU students and their parents, particularly as they navigate the university transition.  His presentation will help to answer such questions as…

  • What are WSU parents concerned about?
  • What do we know about how parents can help their students without being intrusive?  And,
  • How can university personnel partner with parents in the process of supporting students’ well-being?
