Microaggressions: Understanding the effects of daily interactions

Microaggressions are verbal and nonverbal exchanges that put down an individual, intentionally or unintentionally, based on their membership in a marginalized group.  WSU professor, Dr. Lisa Guerrero, will speak on the types of microaggressions, their causes and real-life consequences as well as methods to interrupt microaggressions. Being knowledgeable about microaggressions will help increase your social intelligence and develop your competence when interacting with people from diverse backgrounds in your career and daily life.
