Gavin Pielow named October/November 2016 Community Involvement Award recipient

Each month, the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) recognizes one outstanding student or student group whose exemplary service, leadership, and commitment has impacted the community, and the CCE is excited to announce that Gavin Pielow is the October/November 2016 recipient.

Gavin is a sophomore at Washington State University and is the President of the Young Democrats Club on campus, Vice President of the Pre-Law Society, a member of the Sociology Club, and a founding father for Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. Gavin worked hard this fall to engage students in the democratic process involving the general election, encouraging students to vote for local and national representatives. He understands that being an active citizen includes all aspects of engagement, especially democratic engagement.

If you know a student or student group who should receive the CCE’s monthly Community Involvement Award for January 2017, please submit an online nomination by February 1, 2017. Nominations can be submitted by WSU faculty and staff, community partners, CCE staff members or other students. All WSU students or groups regardless of their campus affiliation are eligible to receive this award. Visit cce.wsu.edu/cia to learn more about this award, and visit bit.ly/cceaward to submit a nomination.
