Learn How to Build a Primitive Shelter

In the event that a windstorm shreds your tent, having the skills to build a proper shelter can ensure you get home safely. The Outdoor Recreation Center is hosting a clinic Nov. 10 from 5-9 p.m. to prepare participants for unforeseen events that are critical for survival. During the clinic, participants will learn ways to utilize the natural environment to take shelter from the elements using Leave No Trace minimal impact techniques. There is a $5 registration fee for University Recreation members and a $10 registration fee for nonmembers. Registration for this clinic ends Nov. 6.
