Nov. 1: Peace Corps experience, opportunities presented

I-Am-Malala-BookPULLMAN, Wash. – Peace Corps service options and the challenges girls face regarding education access will be discussed by a former Peace Corps volunteer at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Todd 130 as part of the Washington State University common reading.

Kyla Allen-Grant, a WSU alumna and the university’s Peace Corps representative, will speak about her work as a volunteer in Togo, West Africa, and about opportunities for Peace Corps service.

This year’s common reading book is “I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban.” Nominations for the 2017-18 book are open through Nov. 1. Learn more at https://commonreading.wsu.edu/nominations/.
