Austin Dowell named September 2016 Community Involvement Award Recipient

Each month, the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) recognizes one outstanding student or student group whose exemplary service, leadership, and commitment has impacted the community, and the CCE is excited to announce that Austin Dowell is the September 2016 recipient.

Austin is a sophomore at WSU Pullman who is highly involved both on campus and off. He is a Resident Assistant, involved in the Residence Hall Association, and an executive officer with ASWSU GIVE. Austin’s nominator states that he consistently demonstrates how to be an active citizen both on campus and in the greater community, and that he is very dependable and is always willing to help anywhere that he is needed. His nominator further states he has attended almost every Adopt-A-Block Taskforce meeting with a positive attitude and energy, helping to keep College Hill clean and growing the program for ASWSU GIVE and the community. The CCE thanks Austin for all he does for the Pullman community.

If you know a student or student group who should receive the CCE’s monthly Community Involvement Award for October 2016, please submit an online nomination by Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Nominations can be submitted by WSU faculty and staff, community partners, CCE staff members or other students. All WSU students or groups regardless of their campus affiliation are eligible to receive this award.
