Adolescents aged 12-17 are being asked to participate in research on the WSU-Pullman campus that examines their processing of different types of appeals on food packaging. This study is seeking a limited number of participants.
If an adolescent volunteers to take part in this study, he or she will need to come to the Communication Emotion and Cognition Lab (part of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication) one time for approximately 90 minutes. We will collect certain physiological data by attaching 10 electrodes to the participant’s skin (five on the face, three on the forearms, and two on the hand). These sensors attach with adhesive stickers that are much like adhesive bandages. Upon completion or withdrawal from this session, the participant will receive a $15 gift card. Participants will then be asked to complete a taste test for which he or she will receive a second$15 gift card. Participants can elect to stop participation at any time. Those with food allergies will be pre-excluded.
