Cougs Vote: Get involved in the 2016 elections

On November 8, 2016, the US will select our next president, but did you know that 88% of Congress is also up for re-election? Or that in Washington, the Governor, Secretary of State, and dozens more of our state positions are also up for re-election? Getting registered to vote and participating in the election process can be daunting. To help you navigate election deadlines and participate in events, the WSU Center for Civic Engagement invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to participate in Cougs Vote events throughout the semester.

Events will include watch parties for the three presidential and one vice presidential debates, a watch party for election night, two WSU student debates, voter registration events, and much more. Students are invited to share their thoughts and follow news and Cougs Vote events on Facebook and Twitter using #CougsVote16. Voter awareness presentations are also available upon request.

Voting is part of being an active citizen, and your vote can make a difference. Visit cce.wsu.edu/cougsvote for voter instructions, events, quizzes and information about ballot measures and candidates, and frequently asked questions about elections.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
