The WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) invites students, parents and guests, faculty, and staff to join us for two exciting Week of Welcome events. After a long day of moving in on Wednesday, August 17, join the CCE for a trip to the Pullman Farmer’s Market to stock up on fresh, local snacks to start your semester off right. Students can meet at two locations near residence halls at 3:30 p.m.; outside of Bryan Hall (the clock tower) on Library Road or in the Health and Wellness gated parking lot outside the Washington Building.
Click here for a map of these two locations. Look for the carrot signs that say “Follow Me to the Farmer’s Market”! Parents, friends, guests, and others are welcome to join students on this short walk to the market. Students who attend the market will have the opportunity to enter a raffle drawing for gift certificates, snacks, and more. Students must be present to win.
On Saturday, August 20, students are invited to join us on three CCE-led projects in the afternoon. The CCE provides free transportation from campus and back, so all you need to do is sign up in advance and show up at the meeting spot! Service projects include a waste audit at the Moscow Farmer’s Market and two gardening projects with Backyard Harvest and the Community Action Center.
