The Center for Reproductive Biology (CRB) at WSU is pleased to announce the creation of a new Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) core located on the Pullman campus. FACS allows for specific subsets of cells to be isolated in purity from a heterogeneous population. In addition, isolation of single cells can be achieved using FACS allowing for critical examination of heterogeneity within diverse populations. The core contains two new state-of-the-art FACS machines manufactured by Sony Biotechnology that are capable of sorting cells based on a multitude of parameters including four different colors. The core is staffed by an experienced technician who is available to conduct cell sorting experiments for investigators on a fee-for-service basis.
