University Communications Mailing Services Tip of the Week

For the best service for your outgoing mail, separate your mail into the following bundle categories. Bundle sealed and unsealed mail separately. Place a rubber band around each bundle.

  • Domestic letters
  • Domestic postcards
  • Foreign letters and post cards
  • Domestic large envelopes, magazines, and catalogues
  • Foreign large envelopes, magazines, and catalogues
  • Stamped envelopes and Business Reply postage-paid envelopes

Attach a budget/project bar code sticker under the return address of the first piece of mail in each bundle. (Do not attach bar codes to bundles of stamped envelopes or postage-paid envelopes.) For all boxes/packages please attach a bar code sticker to each piece. For exceptions for these guidelines contact Mailing Services at 335-2365. Keep in mind that every mail piece goes out as first class/priority mail unless the department marks it otherwise.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
