“Criminal Justice Reform: Can scientific research help us?”
Recent events have demonstrated a crisis of confidence in our criminal justice system. Mass incarceration, police-community relations, sexual assault, and forensic science have brought policing under closer scrutiny than ever before. How can scientific research support the fair administration of justice, and play a role in reforming the system?
Dr. Nancy Rodriguez was appointed director of the NIJ by President Obama in October 2014. She received her Ph.D. in political science from Washington State University in 1998.
