Even though spring hasn’t quite arrived, there’s still a flurry of activity in Student Financial Services (SFS) that we wanted to share with the whole WSU community.
2016-2017 FAFSA and WASFA processing has begun! February 15 was the WSU 2016-2017 FAFSA/WASFA priority submission deadline and SFS is busy reviewing student FAFSA/WASFA information. FAFSAs can still be submitted for next academic year even if the deadline date was missed. Early March, SFS will start sending prospective students (incoming freshman and transfer) financial aid estimates for the upcoming school year. At the same time, SFS will be asking some WSU students for additional information to review their FAFSAs/WASFAs. Be sure to encourage students to submit requested documentation by the submission deadline date of May 15th. If students have any issues, concerns, or need help with their 2016-2017 FAFSA or WASFA, please have them contact Student Financial Services directly. We’re happy to lend a hand! Summer Session 2016-students will begin registering for summer classes February 29. Our office will start awarding students’ summer financial aid as they enroll. Aid will deliver to students’ hands when summer classes actually begin. For more information about summer financial aid, click here.
SFS Communications Center has launched its next generation client services system. In partnership with Enrollment Information Technology (EIT), the Communications Center last week rolled out its new customized, integrated, customer relationship management system. This cool, home-grown technology developed by EIT programmers will bring together all SFS student contacts (phone, email, and appointment) into a single database system. This functionality, along with myWSU, will allow SFS staff all over the state to better serve WSU students and families in a more personable, consistent, and faster way. In 2015, the SFS Communications Center answered 44,000 calls and responded to 9,200 emails and completed 8,000 Pullman Campus student appointments.
