William Julius Wilson Symposium for the Advancement of Social Justice features Nalini Nadkarni, PhD, presenting “Not Such Strange Bedfellows: Bringing Science, Nature, and Nature Imagery to Prisons” on Monday, Nov. 30, 7:30 p.m., in the CUB Auditorium.
Nadkarni, recipient of the 2015 William Julius Wilson Award for the Advancement of Social Justice, is an internationally renowned forest ecologist and an innovator in bringing science and job training to prisons. She works with corrections systems in Washington state and nationwide to promote social inclusiveness of inmates and to reduce post-prison joblessness and recidivism.
