Recruiting diabetic patients for self-management using mobile app

Greetings,

I am a fourth year Ph.D. student in information systems at Washington State University, Carson College of Business.

My research is about the role of technology in the self-management of chronic diseases. Specifically my focus is on using mobile apps for the self-management of diabetes. My study is IRB exempt. I am at the stage of data collection. My data collection has three phases, recruitment (current phase), training, and interview.

Once I identify the interested diabetes patients interested in participating in this study, I will hold a short meeting to train them using a diabetes mobile app. Next, they will use and critique the app for one week. After a week, I will meet with them again for an in-depth interview asking what they liked, what they didn’t like, and how they think the app can be improved.
