Dr. Mark Edwards to deliver the John E. Halver Lecture in Comparative Nutrition

Dr. Mark Edwards will deliver the annual John E. Halver Lecture in Comparative Nutrition on Monday, October 26,  at 3:10 p.m. in C107 Johnson Hall Auditorium.

Dr. Edwards’, a comparative animal nutritionist for over 20 years, has as a personal objective to enhance wildlife conservation, education and research goals of the zoological community. He does this with science-based animal nutrition, preventive health and husbandry practices.

Currently, Dr. Edwards is on the faculty of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA in the Department of Animal Sciences. Dr. Edwards has also worked at: Smithsonian National Zoological Park – Washington DC, and the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park and is recognized for providing nutritional support for Giant Pandas throughout North American and China. He continues to serve as a nutrition advisor to various study groups within the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The annual Halver Lecture is funded through an endowment established by the late John E. Halver to bring internationally recognized speakers in comparative animal nutrition to the WSU campus.
