Pulling Back the Curtain: A behind-the-scenes look at the changing world of journalism

Leading journalists Ashley Ahearn (KUOW/NPR, Seattle), Jeff Burnside (KOMO Seattle), David Malakoff (Science Magazine), Ken Weiss (Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting) and moderator Nancy Baron (COMPASS Online) will discuss how the media is changing, and what it means for communicating science to the public and policymakers. What’s hot and what’s not? They’ll share their personal perspectives on how to get your stories told, what makes a good science story, and do’s and don’ts of dealing with journalists. This lively session will encourage Q&A.
