All WSU academic advisors are invited to the Fall Advising Forum: Advisors’ Roles in Student Success, on Friday, Sept. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the CUB.
The forum agenda includes an overview and demonstration of the Student Success Collaborative’s new Campus platform, followed by break-out workshops on SSC Targeted Campaigns and Best Practices for Blackboard. These hands-on sessions (bring your laptops) will be conducted by avid users of each platform and will help advisors learn how to incorporate them into their busy schedules.
The afternoon session will begin with a live video address from Dr. Jennifer Joslin, Associate Director for Content Development for the NACADA Executive Office. Joslin is a former president of NACADA and has presented numerous webinars on the topics of the Completion Agenda, social media, working with LGBTQA students, and advising administration. Connect with Joslin online at about.me/jenniferjoslin.
Following Joslin’s address, a panel of WSU advisors will discuss, “Advising Hacks for Student Success,” and share their recommendations for using online tools to make advising more efficient and effective.
Please make plans to attend the Advising Forum by sending your RSVP by Sept. 18. Urban campus advisors are invited to attend, in person or via AMS.
The forum is sponsored by WSU ACADA, ACG, the Academic Success and Career Center, and the Office of the Provost.
