WSU’s College of Education (Pullman) will host the annual NWATE conference representing a network of educators engaged in discussions and collaboration about teacher education in the Northwest region. Teacher-educators, school teachers and leadership, and community educators will gather to share ideas connected to the theme, Critical Hope and Healing in Education exploring new directions in education practice, research, and scholarship. Sessions include paper presentations, interactive workshops, and alternative presentations.
Feature presentation is entitled: Peacemaking and Healing: Leadership Practices for Healthy, Just, Inclusive Communities offered by the Center For Ethical Leadership. Executive Director Hla Yin Yin Waing (Waing Waing) will facilitate a two-part keynote workshop drawing from the Center’s body of work including Peacemaking Circles. Other highlights include a joint plenary session with the College Board’s Native American Student Advocacy Institute (NASAI), also being held at WSU Pullman. Registration is open to all.
