WSU Choral Concert to celebrate spring!

The WSU Madrigal Singers and Concert Choir, under the direction of Lori Wiest, School of Music, will present a free choral concert celebrating the arrival of spring on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. in Bryan Hall Theatre.  The Madrigal Singers will perform English “pop” music of the 16th century featuring songs devoted to the months of spring, such as “Now is the Month of Maying,” “April is in My Mistress’ Face,” and “Fair Phyllis I Saw Sitting” by composers including Michael East, Thomas Tomkins, Thomas Morley, and John Farmer.  The Concert Choir will present a theme of longing and fulfillment by composers Palestrina, Byrd, Poulenc, Brahms, and Tosti.  https://news.wsu.edu/2015/03/05/march-12-choral-concert-presents-old-pop-and-sentiment/#.VQB2uOG2rD-
