Erich Lear’s Passing

It is with great sadness that the School of Music announces the passing of Emeritus Professor Dr. Erich Lear, former long-time Director of the School of Music and Theatre Arts, and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Washington State University, on February 18th, after a battle with cancer. Erich made countless, lasting contributions to WSU including his advocacy and stewardship of the Kimbrough Hall Addition, a multi-million dollar renovation which added two stories to the Kimbrough Music Building including new classrooms, a music library, piano/electronic music laboratory and recording studio. He will be deeply missed. Information regarding a memorial will be shared as soon as it is available.
