Humanities Week Events – February 16-20

Please join us for a variety of activities and discussions surrounding “a Humanities of Inclusion” during Humanities Week, February 16-20.  We will begin with a roundtable conversation on Tuesday, February 17, at 5:30 p.m., in the Honors Hall Lounge on contemporary and current LGBTQ issues and topics. Speakers include:  Mary Bloodsworth-Lugo, Ph.D. [CCGRS], Romain Chareyon, Ph.D. [French Studies], Melynda Huskey, Ph.D. [2/4/VP for Student Affairs, WSU], Ruby Kim, doctoral candidate [American Studies], and Nishant Shahani, Ph.D. [CCGRS] with moderator, Francisco Manzo-Robledo, Ph.D. [DFLC].  Keynote speaker, David William Foster, Ph.D. and Regents professor, Arizona State University, will present “Three Founding Latin American Women Photographers” on Wednesday, February 18, at 5:30 p.m., in the Hecht Meeting Room at Neill Public Library, 210 N Grand Ave., Pullman.  Thursday, February 19, will feature the keynote address by Dr. Foster entitled, “Marco Berger: Filming Queer Masculinities in Argentina” at 5:30 p.m. in Goertzen 21.  Find the abstracts for all the speaker presentations at https://hub.wsu.edu/hpg/.  All events are free and open to the public and will be followed by receptions.
