The 2015 applications are available for the McNair Achievement Program on January 23, 2015. Students may apply at mcnair.wsu.edu/apply/.
The McNair Achievement Program at Washington State University is one of several TRIO programs at WSU. There are more than 152 colleges and universities that administer McNair programs. McNair prepares undergraduates for future graduate studies through coursework, mentoring, and seminars on topics related to graduate school preparation. McNair students also complete a paid research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor, and have the opportunity to present their research at local, regional, and national conferences.
McNair scholars have found great success through the program. Over 50 of our scholars are currently attending graduate schools throughout the country, and 10 of our scholars have recently earned their PhDs! McNair is a rigorous yet rewarding program and is seeking ambitious and motivated students with a desire to earn their PhD.
Participant eligibility requirements for the McNair Achievement Program are a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, US Citizen or Permanent Resident, desire to pursue a PhD after college, and be a low-income or first-generation student or be from an underrepresented group in graduate education. The program takes two years to complete.
