Jean Smith will be retiring from WSU Libraries effective April 1, 2015.
The following is from Jean:
“After 25+ years, Jean Smith is retiring March 31, 2015. She has been with WSU Libraries-Holland Library technical service (serial records) unit since the fall of 1989; starting with mail sorting part-time for a few weeks, to full-time checking in and processing current journal and added volume(including government documents) to bindery preparation and record updating; from kardex on the main floor to computer on the fourth floor. She was pleased to serve on several working groups and social committees; including the one that created the red shirts with the griffin and the recipe book in memory of Carol Howard. As a unit she remembers having shared in hard times, sad times and joyful celebration times. She wants to say “Thank you” for training, supporting, and having patience. She appreciates the supportive community of the library and WSU campus and the van drivers and co-riders who made it possible for her to get to work. D-E-L-I-G-H-T is her word (ask her if you want to know the acrostic meaning).”
Please join us in thanking Jean for her 25+ years of great service to WSU. We will miss her.
