WSU Press 23rd Annual Holiday Book Fair
Thursday, December 4, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Terrell Library Atrium
Celebrate the holidays with WSU Press! Again this year, WSU School of Hospitality Business Management Executive Chef Jamie Callison will be present to sign his cookbook, The Crimson Spoon: Plating Regional Cuisine on the Palouse. The International Association of Culinary Professionals selected his book as a 2014 finalist in their Professional Kitchens category. Keith Petersen, Idaho State Historian and author of John Mullan: The Tumultuous Life of a Western Road Builder, will also be signing. His biography delves deep into the life of the West Point engineer who built a 625-mile link that connected the Missouri and Columbia Rivers and eventually became a significant part of I-90.
The fair will feature seven more new titles on a variety of topics—the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill; Puget Sound forts; Roslyn’s radical labor history; political deadlock between farmers and environmentalists; global economy in the small town West; and a photographic guide to western Washington’s native trees. All new releases will be discounted 30%, and a nice selection of additional books will be offered at 20% off. Festivities also include complimentary cookies and drawings for free books.
For more information about the book fair, contact WSU Press at 509-335-7880. WSU’s branch campuses and others outside of Pullman can participate, too. Browse through our online catalog for a complete list of books in print. Sale prices will be valid for phone orders of all titles and online orders of the new releases from December 1-5.
