Abril Hunt elected president of WFAA

Washington State University Vancouver Financial Aid Advisor, Abril Hunt, has been elected to serve as Washington Financial Aid Association (WFAA) president beginning July 1, 2014. WFAA is a professional membership organization that provides support for over 300 financial aid professionals in the state of Washington with the goal to promote higher education through the availability, support, and administration of student financial assistance programs.

Abril explains “With the constancy of change in our field; the training, networking, and mentoring that WFAA provides is absolutely essential to our success as financial aid professionals.  Our institutions, and especially our students reap the benefits of our professional development.  Membership is a true service-learning experience.  This year, we will be focusing on communication, outreach and member engagement. I welcome the opportunity to lead the association this year.”

Abril joined WSU Vancouver in 2010 and has over 16 years of financial aid experience at all sectors in higher education from community college, proprietary, private four year and now a public four year.
