The Coalition for Women Students presents “The Creative World of Synthia Saint James”

Synthia Saint James is a world-renowned multicultural visual artist. Vibrant, bold colors are a signature aspect of her piece, and her expressive imagery has infused African Americans with an enthusiasm for collecting and displaying art. Her work is loved by many, including bestselling author Terry McMillian who featured Dr. Saint James’ most iconic image on the cover of her novel “Waiting to Exhale”. Her commission work includes one of the most viewed pieces in history, the official United States postal stamp honoring the Kwanzaa holiday.

Dr. Saint James is also the author and illustrator of seventeen children’s books, three poetry books, a book of affirmations, a cookbook, a play, and the autobiographical book “Living My Dream: An Artistic Approach to Marketing”, which was nominated for the 2012 NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Literary Work-Instructional.

The program will be held on Wednesday, April 9, in the Junior Ballroom, inside the CUB, and this event is FREE to the public.
