Advancing Teaching, Learning, and Cognition Through a Meta-Analytic Approach

Olusola Adesope – Washington State University

Although researchers have made great strides in understanding complex issues through well-designed, rigorous scientific research, there is clearly a need for evidence-based studies that synthesize results from several empirical studies and produce guidelines for practice, policy making, and future research directions. This talk will highlight the use of meta-analysis as a methodological approach to advance evidence-based practice. Specifically, the talk will explicate the use of meta-analyses in advancing research, practice and policy making in the areas of teaching, learning and cognition.

The seminar will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Ed Ad 216.
