On Friday, Feb. 7 the Provost’s Office will hold an information session on the retirement of Skylight Survey Systems and WSU’s transition in 2014 to new systems for online course evaluations and for general surveys.
All interested members of the WSU community are welcome to join us:
Friday, Feb. 7
• 3–4 p.m.: Course evaluation system
• 4–5 p.m.: General surveys
• Location: Lighty 405, with AMS locations on Vancouver, Tri-Cities, and Spokane campuses.
Course evaluations are a critical part of assessing educational quality at WSU. They also contribute to annual review and decisions about faculty promotion and tenure. A new course evaluation system and a new survey tool both are intended to help the WSU community reach our goals related to teaching, research and outreach. Specifically, we expect the new systems to enhance the ability of faculty, staff, and administration to gather evidence they need to guide decisions about instruction, curriculum, programs, and services, and to support survey needs connected to research and evaluation.
This important transition will affect and involve faculty and staff across the university, on all campuses. We anticipate calling on many of you as we prepare to pilot and navigate the new systems in the coming year, and we appreciate your support at each step of this effort.
