A Workshop for Serving Undocumented Students

You are invited to join:
A Workshop for Serving Undocumented Students

Friday, Nov. 22
9 a.m.-11 a.m.
Lighty 260 Conference Room

About the workshop: The workshop will address the status of undocumented immigrant students enrolled at Washington State higher education institutions by engaging the faculty and staff to become informed about the status of undocumented immigrant students at WA and apprised of best student success practices and other resources. A secondary outcome is to create a model that can be used in other venues, particularly by other professionals that also need to learn about undocumented immigrant students, the laws that impinge upon student lives, and policies and practices that can contribute to their academic success. Participants will learn the following:

  • To provide technical information related to House Bill 1079 and the Washington State Educational Access Coalition for HB 1079 Students.
  • To inform participants of the needs, concerns, and issues facing undocumented students in higher education.
  • To provide information on how to create a welcoming and supportive climate at your institution.
