The week of November 17-23, 2013 is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week (NHHAW). On Saturday, November 23, the Center for Civic Engagement and ASWSU Global will be hosting two special service projects for online students. The first project will be held in Olympia, WA from 9 a.m.- noon or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. For this project, students will help the Thurston County Food bank create Thanksgiving boxes for over 3,000 families.
The second project will be held in Seattle, WA from 9 -11:30 a.m. For this project, students will help Mary’s Place run a children’s Thanksgiving party for their residents. Mary’s Place is a women and children’s shelter in Seattle. Throughout the week, there are also daily projects everywhere from Spokane, Pasco, Vancouver and Seattle in Washington to projects in Bend and Portland Oregon!
