Ensuring Web accessibility on Washington State University websites is priority and policy that was endorsed and mandated by university executives in the summer of 2017.

To provide guidance and support for these goals, an online training program has launched for website coordinators, designers and technicians.

Under WSU’s Executive Policy  and Business Policy and Procedures Manual, WSU website coordinators and managers, and other electronic and information technology publishers are called on to “create accessible content.” This includes procurement, design, development, implementation, utilization, and maintenance of EIT, including through third-party vendors.

This training is required annually and is designed to give participants an introductory-level understanding of Web accessibility. It equips people the fundamental skills needed to make a WSU website accessible.

Who needs to take the training? All Web developers, content publishers, editors, domain owners, and anyone who has any other role in updating WSU website content.
