PULLMAN, Wash. – The romantic comic operetta, “The Merry Widow,” will be presented during Mom’s Weekend at 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University.

Tickets cost $15 general admission and $10 for students and seniors 60 and older. Tickets will be available in the lobby of Kimbrough Music Building 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 6-8 and at the door 1½ hours before each performance.

Petrovenia, a fictional eastern European country, is on the verge of bankruptcy. Its richest citizen, a young widow, is pursued by her countrymen – who want to keep her money in the country and block marriage proposals from foreigners. The widow and one of her suitors were once in love and now her money and his pride stand in the way of a new romance.
