HRS debuts monthly information feature

HR Essentials is a new monthly information feature from WSU Human Resource Services (HRS) that highlights resources and services for faculty, staff and students. The first installment, below, focuses on resources to help employees and students deal with uncertainty and change, especially during times of challenge and stress:

• The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps with handling personal and/or work-related issues. Services are free for WSU employees and their families. Additional information, including statewide locations and resources, can be found ONLINE @ www.eap.wsu.edu, by calling 335-1744 or by e-mailing eap@wsu.edu. Students may reach counseling services at 335-4511.

• The ombudsman serves as a neutral resource in the resolution of issues and problems, including academic, employment and administrative. For more information, see ONLINE @ www.wsu.edu/~ombuds, phone 335-1195 or e-mail ombusdman@wsu.edu.

• The Center for Advising and Career Development (formerly Career Services) provides some services, such as resume review/critique, to employees as well as students. It assists students with choosing a career, balancing school and work, and finding job opportunities. See ONLINE @www.careers.wsu.edu, phone 335-2546 or e-mail careerservices@wsu.edu for more information.

• Retirement plan, tax-deferred investment options and other employee benefit information can be found ONLINEwww.hrs.wsu.edu/Benefits, e-mail benefits@wsu.edu or phone 335-4589.
