PULLMAN, Wash. – Two new tuition assistance programs with Chick-fil-A, headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, based in Pullman, are making the Washington State University online MBA degree programs more affordable for the companies’ team members and their families.

PULLMAN, Wash. – In honor of a fondly remembered professor, Edmund Schweitzer and Schweitzer Engineering Lab are making donations of $100,000 each to the Alfred and Nancy Flechsig Fund for Laboratory Improvement at Washington State University.
SPOKANE, Wash. – Washington State University announced today that Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) contributed $100,000 to the Dr. Elson S. Floyd Medical Education Founders Fund to honor the memory of a valued friend and community leader. Dr. Edmund O. Schweitzer, III, founder and president of SEL, presented the gift to WSU Spokane Chancellor Lisa Brown at SEL’s world headquarters in Pullman, Wash., on Thursday afternoon.
• “Corporate Social Responsibility: Maximizing the Benefits for Your Company and Community” is the title of the annual Burtenshaw Lecture, to be presented by Niki Leondakis, chief operating officer of Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, Inc., at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the CUB auditorium.Leondakis oversees operations, marketing and human resources for San Francisco-based Kimpton’s 39 boutique hotels and restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. She is credited with forming the company’s mentor program for women and men in the restaurant division and launching a diversity initiative.
