PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University women’s rugby players returned from their historic spring trip to London with some bumps and bruises, but it’s the memories of competing against some of the world’s best club teams, seeing famous landmarks, and building camaraderie that they’ll remember the most.

After months of planning, fundraising, and training, the team—ranked seventh nationally in the most recent Division I poll—became the first WSU sport club in over 30 years to compete internationally.

PULLMAN, Wash. – The undefeated Washington State University women’s rugby team will be in London Sunday to play against the world’s oldest open rugby club. Coach Christy O’Shea calls it the trip of a lifetime.

RICHLAND, Wash. – Soccer and rugby club teams will hold their only home games this season beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Washington State University Tri-Cities. Games are free to the public.

RICHLAND, Wash. – Club sports were introduced at Washington State University Tri-Cities in the fall, and the first home game – men’s rugby vs. North Idaho College – will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Crimson Field on the south side of Sprout Road. The game and parking are free to the public.

PULLMAN – The USA Women’s National Rugby Team chose Ashley Kmiecik (’05, BA Liberal Arts) to start in the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup in England this August.

 

Kmiecik will play as a fullback with the USA Women Eagles beginning with a match versus Kazakhstan on August 20.

 

The 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup features the top 12 teams from around the world. The teams are sorted into three pools and will play pool opponents on three match days. The fifth-ranked USA Women’s Team is … » More …
