Pimentel-80PULLMAN, Wash. – On Feb. 11, President Barack Obama in a news conference publicly recognized a group of heroes, including U.S. Navy Cdr. Guillermo “Billy” Pimentel, a 1999 Washington State University graduate.

Two veterans to speak at WSU Tri-Cities

RICHLAND – Two veterans will talk about their experiences in the military at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the West Building Atrium, 2710 University Drive in the WSU Tri-Cities campus.

The event is sponsored by the Associated Students of WSU Tri-Cities. Admission is free and open to the public.

The veterans who will be speaking are:

WSU and UI ROTC to host competition March 4

The Navy ROTC programs from WSU and the University of Idaho will host the annual Northwest Navy Competition Saturday, March 4 at the University of Idaho campus.The free, day-long competition will include drill events and exhibitions, as well as various other competitions. The Vandals and Cougars will join together, competing against the University of Washington, Oregon State University and Utah State University, said Dave Chun, battalion public affairs officer.”We will see how ROTC members perform in all aspects of the military, said Marlyn Miller, senior enlisted advisor.
