Whitney named assoc. vp for International Programs

PULLMAN, Wash. – Paul Whitney, who has nearly 30 years of experience at Washington State University, has been named associate vice president for the university’s Office of International Programs.

WENATCHEE, Wash. – A four-week Spanish immersion class beginning Wednesday, June 15, is designed for school, state agency and law enforcement personnel, as well as those who want to increase their fluency in the Spanish language and cultures.

WSU hosts atomic bomb exhibition

PULLMAN – WSU will host the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Exhibition Nov. 10-24 at the Holland Library Atrium.

On display will be thirty posters, donated by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, showing the destruction that occurred under the mushroom clouds when Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed by the United States in Aug. 1945.

The opening reception will take place from 4-5 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Holland Library Atrium and is open to the public.

During the exhibition, two animated films will be shown, “Barefoot Gen”, released in 1983, and “Barefoot Gen 2”, released in 1986. The films, created by Japanese manga (comic) artist … » More …
