PORTLAND, Ore. – A conference on building energy-efficient homes, offices, schools and multifamily apartments will be held March 10-11 in Portland, Ore.

Building a Carbon Zero Northwest brings together industry professionals to discuss the latest techniques for constructing passive buildings, which can consume 90 percent less energy than new conventional buildings.
Central strategies include using super-insulated envelopes, ultra-high-performance windows, airtight construction, heat-recovery ventilation and reduced thermal bridging, as well as employing such heat sources as solar, equipment, lighting and occupants.
The conference is organized by Washington State University Conference Management.
